+ How much liquid broth will a 100g jar of dehydrated broth make?
Based on our recommened doasge of 1 heaped teaspoon to 250ml of water, a 100g jar or pouch of dehydrated beef or chicken broth will make a minimum of 5L or 20 cups of delicious, nutrient dense liquid gold.
If you are consuming as a beverage on a daily basis, a 100g jar will provide a 3 week supply.
For the broth convert and consumer families the larger 250g pouch will make 12.5L or 50 cups and the bulk 500g pouch makes 25L or 100 cups.

+ What is the difference between broth and stock?
It is easy to get confused by the terms ‘stock’ and ‘broth’, especially when they are often used interchangeably and there is conflicting information out there.
It really comes down to time.
While a ‘stock’ is also made from bones and generally contains vegetables, it is cooked for shorter periods of time (can vary from 2-12 hours). This process creates a nice base for cooking but does not have the nutrient density of a high quality broth.
A ‘broth’ includes marrow bones, tendons and ligaments in addition to bones and vegetables and is simmered on low heat for a period of at least 48 hours for beef and usually around 24 hours for chicken. This gentle simmering causes the bones and ligaments to release healing compounds and minerals to create a nutrient dense, richer tasting liquid gold. If you want to access the real benefits of bone broth, you need real bone broth!
When buying stocks, soups and sauces from the supermarket check the ingredient list and nutrition panel carefully. More often than not they are full of nasties – MSG, emulsifiers, artificial flavours, high levels of salt, sugar – and lack the nutritional benefits of a real broth.
+ Can I make it myself?
Absolutely! A good broth can definitely be made at home. It is important to use high quality organic ingredients if you want to create a high quality, nutrient dense broth. There are plenty of recipes online that you could have a play with.
The biggest catch here is time.
While the process is relatively uncomplicated, it is lengthy. The broth needs to be simmered for up to 48 hours to extract all the goodies from the bones, which means leaving it to simmer overnight and often while you are away from home.
+ Why do you dehydrate the broth and how long will it last?
Simply to make it more versatile and easy to use!
The dehydration process is conducted at low temperatures over 18 hours and essentially removes the water content from the broth. With little effect on nutritional value, the protein, fat and mineral content is retained.
Dehydrating broth extends the lifespan of the product without the use of preservatives. There is no need for refrigeration and no change to the best before date once it has been opened. There is a recommended best before date sticker on all of our products which is a period of 8 months from the date of packaging.
The dehydrated broth is easily rehydrated by adding boiled water, making is a great option for using at work and when travelling.

+ Apart from drinking a cup of delicious broth, how else can I use the product?
We love sipping a cup of broth instead of a tea or coffee but there are lots of other ways to enjoy the healing qualities of bone broth in your diet.
The dehydrated version makes the product really versatile. You can add it to smoothies, soups, bolognaise, stir-fries – anything you are cooking really! Both the chicken and the beef bone broths are perfect to use as a complete base for a Pho - simple add your veggies, noodles, dumplings or meatballs. You can also use the broth as the liquid to poach eggs or cook rice. It is also great to use as a seasoning on salads, eggs or as part of a crumbing mix. These provide great alternatives for warmer climates and for getting some nutrient dense goodness into the kids too.
+ Why is my broth slightly different to last time?
There may be differences in colour, texture and flavour of the end product due to natural variance in meat bones and vegetables that are used to make our broth. We source all certified organic ingredients so there may be slight differences from batch to batch.

+ I have heard that broth helps to heal the gut? How?
